Fruits of the Spirit

One night, I planted a seed,

And the soil in which it lay was called Patience.

 My seed was watered,

And the drops that nourished it were called Goodness.

 My seed was fragile,

And the hands that tended it were called Kindness.

Impatient for my seed to grow,

The days that passed were called Self-Control.

My seed became rooted,

A New Year Message from Pastor Jem Trehern

As we enter into this New Year it is very easy to start formulating plans to help bring about God’s kingdom. However we will never be able to succeed at this because the Kingdom of God – His role and reign – is not something we can create.

Instead it is that which we are called to demonstrate in our lives and in the life of the church and community, even though we cannot bring it about in our own strength. Yet nor do we have to.

Thoughts from Nicky

How glorious the morning star

Which shines upon hill and dale.

Gently warming the frozen earth,

Bringing new life to slumbering roots.

How powerful the promise

That pierces the blanket of fog

Which lies heavy upon our consciousness.

How healing the love

That pours from celestial beams

And touches the coldest parts

Of lonely man.

How radiant the glory

This Christmas Day.

Cascades of holy blessing

Rain golden upon this earth.

Spirit-filled yearning

That Man may at last see

November News from Jo in Nicaragua

Dear Friends and Family,

I am enjoying life on Ometepe and am slowly starting to establish my role within the nutritional project.  Idalgo and I are still visiting the communities together, whenever we have the opportunity to do so, however the rains of recent weeks rather slowed things down, as many of the roads became impassable.
